One Mission. Two Connected Education Communities.
HERmedicine® is the nonprofit education platform. The OncoMenopause Consortium® is HERmedicine’s permanent initiative focused on menopause, midlife health, and survivorship care after cancer.
The OncoMenopause Consortium® is a permanent initiative of HERmedicine™, created to address one of the most neglected areas in women’s health: menopause, midlife health, and survivorship care after cancer. Together, HERmedicine and OncoMenopause Consortium share one mission — to improve the care of women through evidence-based education, multidisciplinary collaboration, and community.
A Shared Mission to Improve the Care of Women
HERmedicine and the OncoMenopause Consortium were built from the same core belief: women deserve better healthcare, and better healthcare begins with better education.
HERmedicine is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit education platform committed to advancing evidence-based women’s health through free live education, clinician and consumer learning, multidisciplinary collaboration, and practical translation of evidence into care.
The OncoMenopause Consortium is a permanent initiative of HERmedicine focused on a specific and historically underserved group of women: cancer survivors navigating menopause, hormone questions, sexual health, bone health, cardiovascular risk, cognitive concerns, quality of life, and midlife health after cancer.
Together, HERmedicine and OncoMenopause Consortium work to close gaps in education, reduce fragmentation, and improve the care women receive across specialties.
Why OncoMenopause Is Part of HERmedicine
Cancer survivorship has changed. More women are living longer after cancer, yet many are left without clear guidance for the menopause and midlife health issues that follow treatment.
For too many survivors, care becomes fragmented. Oncology focuses on cancer treatment and surveillance. Primary care may feel uncertain about cancer-related risks. Gynecology may be hesitant to address hormone and sexual health questions. Menopause specialists may not have oncology expertise. As a result, women are often left navigating complex symptoms, conflicting recommendations, and unanswered questions on their own.
The OncoMenopause Consortium was created within HERmedicine to change that.
OMC brings oncology, menopause medicine, primary care, gynecology, sexual medicine, survivorship, mental health, bone health, cardiology, endocrinology, breast surgery, and research voices into the same educational space. Its purpose is to improve care by helping clinicians learn together, discuss complex cases, translate evidence into practice, and support survivors with accurate, compassionate, evidence-informed education.
One Nonprofit Platform. A Focused National Initiative.
HERmedicine is the nonprofit home for the OncoMenopause Consortium.
The HERmedicine Board of Directors provides governance and oversight for HERmedicine and its initiatives, including the OncoMenopause Consortium. Lisa Larkin, MD, FACMP, MSCP, IF, serves as Founder and Executive Director of HERmedicine and oversees HERmedicine and the OncoMenopause Consortium as part of the organization’s broader educational mission.
Maryam Lustberg, MD, serves on the HERmedicine Board of Directors and is Co-Founder and Chair of the OncoMenopause Consortium. In this role, she helps lead OMC’s clinical and educational direction, ensuring that the initiative remains grounded in oncology expertise, survivorship care, evidence-based medicine, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
This structure allows OMC to have a clear, focused identity while remaining fully aligned with HERmedicine’s nonprofit mission, governance, and commitment to improving women’s healthcare through education.
What HERmedicine and OMC Share
HERmedicine and the OncoMenopause Consortium are united by the same values.
Evidence-Based Medicine
Both organizations are committed to rigorous, unbiased education grounded in the best available evidence. We do not promote trends, misinformation, or unsupported claims.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration
Women’s health does not belong to one specialty. HERmedicine and OMC bring clinicians together across disciplines to improve clinical reasoning, reduce silos, and support more comprehensive care.
Clinician and Consumer Education
Better care requires education on both sides of the exam room. Clinicians need practical, evidence-based learning. Women and survivors need trusted information to understand their health and participate meaningfully in care decisions.
Community and Respectful Dialogue
HERmedicine and OMC create spaces where clinicians, women, survivors, researchers, educators, and advocates can learn together, ask difficult questions, and engage in respectful, evidence-informed discussion.
A Commitment to Better Care for Women
HERmedicine serves women broadly across the lifespan. OMC focuses deeply on women after cancer. Together, they advance the same mission: improving the care of women through education, collaboration, and evidence.
How the Education Works
HERmedicine and the OncoMenopause Consortium offer free live virtual education through one shared education schedule.
This includes HERmedicine’s broad women’s health education and OMC’s focused education in menopause, cancer survivorship, and women’s health after cancer.
Through free live sessions, CME programming, membership-based access to recorded education, case discussion forums, and community-based learning, HERmedicine and OMC support clinicians, consumers, and survivors with education that is practical, current, and grounded in real-world care.
