One Nonprofit. One Focused Initiative. One National Community.
HERmedicine is the nonprofit home of OncoMenopause™—a permanent national education initiative advanced through the multidisciplinary OncoMenopause Consortium®.
OncoMenopause™ brings clinicians and cancer survivors into connected educational communities built around evidence, collaboration, and thoughtful dialogue. Through the OncoMenopause Consortium®, clinicians across specialties learn together, examine complex cases, evaluate evolving evidence, and discuss uncertainty and divergent perspectives openly and respectfully. Through survivHERS, cancer survivors gain access to trusted education, meaningful connection, and support as they navigate menopause, treatment-related symptoms, and long-term health after cancer.
A Shared Mission to Improve the Care of Women
HERmedicine and OncoMenopause™ are grounded in the same core belief: women deserve better healthcare, and better healthcare begins with better education.
HERmedicine is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit education organization committed to advancing evidence-based women’s health through free live education, clinician and consumer learning, multidisciplinary collaboration, and the practical translation of evidence into care.
OncoMenopause™ is a permanent national education initiative of HERmedicine focused on a specific and historically underserved population: cancer survivors navigating menopause, treatment-related symptoms, hormone questions, sexual health, bone health, cardiovascular risk, cognitive concerns, quality of life, and long-term health after cancer.
The initiative is advanced through the OncoMenopause Consortium®, a national multidisciplinary professional community that brings clinicians, educators, researchers, advocates, and other leaders together to improve the care of women affected by cancer.
Through survivHERS, the initiative also creates an informed and supportive community for cancer survivors navigating menopause, midlife health, and life after cancer.
Together, HERmedicine and its OncoMenopause initiative work to close gaps in education, reduce fragmentation, build community, and improve the care women receive across specialties and throughout survivorship.
Why OncoMenopause Is Part of HERmedicine
Cancer survivorship has changed. More women are living longer after cancer, yet many remain without clear, coordinated guidance for the menopause and midlife health concerns that arise during and after treatment.
For too many survivors, care becomes fragmented. Oncology appropriately focuses on cancer treatment and surveillance. Primary care clinicians may feel uncertain about cancer-related risks. Gynecology clinicians may be hesitant to address hormone and sexual health questions. Menopause specialists may not have sufficient oncology expertise. Other specialists may address one aspect of a survivor’s health without a coordinated understanding of the whole woman.
As a result, survivors are often left navigating complex symptoms, conflicting recommendations, uncertainty, and unanswered questions on their own.
OncoMenopause™ was created within HERmedicine to change that.
Through the OncoMenopause Consortium®, the initiative brings together expertise from oncology, menopause medicine, primary care, gynecology, sexual medicine, survivorship, mental health, bone health, cardiology, endocrinology, breast surgery, rehabilitation, and research.
Its purpose is to improve care by helping clinicians learn together, examine complex cases, understand evolving evidence, discuss areas of uncertainty, and translate the best available evidence into thoughtful, individualized clinical care.
One Nonprofit Platform. One Focused National Initiative.

What HERmedicine and OncoMenopause Share
HERmedicine and its OncoMenopause initiative are united by a common mission and a shared set of values.
Rigorous, Evidence-Based Education
We are committed to education that is rigorous, unbiased, current, and grounded in the best available evidence.
We do not promote trends, misinformation, unsupported claims, or overly simplified answers to complex clinical questions. We help clinicians and women understand what is known, what remains uncertain, and how available evidence can be applied thoughtfully to individual care.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration
Women’s health does not belong to any single specialty.
HERmedicine and the OncoMenopause Consortium bring clinicians together across disciplines to improve clinical reasoning, reduce professional silos, and support more comprehensive, coordinated care.
This multidisciplinary approach is especially important in cancer survivorship, where menopause and midlife health intersect with oncology, primary care, gynecology, sexual health, mental health, cardiovascular health, bone health, endocrinology, and long-term survivorship.
Clinician, Consumer, and Survivor Education
Better care requires education on both sides of the exam room.
Clinicians need practical, evidence-based education that helps them address complex questions with greater knowledge and confidence. Women and cancer survivors need trusted information that helps them understand their health, evaluate options, ask informed questions, and participate meaningfully in care decisions.
Community and Respectful Dialogue
Education is not simply the transfer of information. It also requires community, curiosity, collaboration, and the freedom to ask difficult questions.
The OncoMenopause Consortium creates a trusted multidisciplinary community where clinicians can learn from one another, discuss complex cases, examine evolving evidence, and engage respectfully with divergent perspectives.
We recognize that experts may interpret incomplete or evolving evidence differently. Progress depends on creating space for thoughtful discourse—without dogma, dismissal, or false certainty.
Through survivHERS, we also build community among cancer survivors, creating opportunities for women to learn, connect, share experiences, and feel less isolated as they navigate menopause and long-term health after cancer.
A Commitment to Better Care for Women
HERmedicine serves women broadly across the lifespan. OncoMenopause focuses deeply on the needs of women affected by cancer.
Together, they advance one mission: improving the care of women through evidence-based education, multidisciplinary collaboration, respectful discourse, and community.
